Category:Geology
From Marspedia
The geology of Mars differs greatly from terrestrial geology. However, similar processes are known to have occurred on the ancient Martian surface, including the erosion and deposition of sediment by fluvial channels. Analysis of Mars rock yields the violent history of this tectonically inactive planet, an understanding of which will help future settlers and aid our understanding of the evolution of the solar system.
